The entire North-East India has its own beauty encompassed in all. Here we list down some tourists attractions of one of the seven states of the North-East region- Sikkim. Sikkim is land-locked state with Nepal, Bhutan and China surrounded around it.
This mountainous beauty has a lot to offer you. A few must visit places and activities when you are in Sikkim.
Monasteries:
Sikkim is a home to over 200 monasteries. This place is a haven of every person seeking peace and loves meditation. Rumtek and Tashiding are the most famous monasteries in Sikkim. Rumtek overlooks Gangtok, while placed in west Sikkim. 
 Yuksom and the Dzongri Trail:
Sikkim is every trekker’s paradise. If you are someone looking for an adventurous getaway you definitely must visit Sikkim. The trek carried out between Yuksom to Dzongri Peak is the most popular activity in Sikkim
Teesta River Rafting:
River rafting is a relatively new adventure sports to have entered Sikkim. However it is soon gaining momentum and has some world class experience to offer you. The major route of the entire river rafting experience passes through Makha-Sirwani-Bardang-Rongpa. 
 Flora Fauna Sanctuaries:
The whole of North-East India is known for its unique vegetation, flora and fauna. Sikkim is no different. Sikkim is renowned for the variety of animals, birds and flowers that reside in the geography. One can come across about 400 species of butterflies, about 450 different varieties of orchids and 450 species of birds. You can experience all this at its best at Deorali Orchid Sanctuary placed in South Gangtok. 
 Nathu La Pass and the Old Silk Route:
If you are completely up for something adventurous, nothing can beat a journey along the former Old Silk Route to Nathu La. It is situated on the Chinese border three hours away from Gangtok. However the only drawback is that Indians can carry out a journey till the end. You cannot have a foreign companion with you. They are only allowed to go till the Tsomgo Lake.
